Thông tin về giáo viên Anh ngữ - Thầy Spencer Utt

Đến từ thành phố Salt Lake, bang Utah, Hoa Kỳ . Hiện giờ, thầy Spencer đang làm việc tại AAE Việt Nam. Thầy đã từng làm tình nguyện viên giảng dạy tiếng Anh cho nhiều sinh viên quốc tế đến từ các nước như: Trung Quốc, Hàn Quốc, Nhật Bản, Brazil, Đức, Nga, và nhiều nước khác trên thế giới. Với mục đích giúp các bạn trẻ cải thiện vốn tiếng Anh và gặp gỡ bạn mới, thầy rất vui mừng chào đón các bạn đến tham gia Câu lạc bộ Anh ngữ miễn phí tại văn phòng AAE vào thứ Bảy hàng tuần.

Happy Friday the 13^th

Unlike what the title suggests, most people in the world believe that Friday the 13^th is a scary combination. Most people believe that if the 13th falls on Friday, bad things will happen. Believe it or not, believing in it makes it true.

The belief about this unfortunate combination is so widely spread there are many buildings in the world without a 13th floor, people do not go to work on Friday the 13^th and in USA alone, over 21 million people who fear it do not go to work, do not sign contracts and do not schedule any important event on this day.

The origin of the belief is very old and the main reason we cannot tell the exact source is because there were also many old traditions believing that Friday the 13^th is actually a lucky combination.

Superstitions about Friday being lucky or unlucky day have existed since ancient times. The old Egyptians believed life was a spiritual journey with 12 levels. The 13^th level was the transformation to an eternal state of life. When people died on the 13^th level, they became superior and would live forever. The ancients Germans believed that Friday was a lucky day, especially for marriage, because they believed it was the day of Venus, goddess of love and beauty. Even in Tarot cards, the number 13, while symbolizing an ending, it also indicates a new beginning.

Priority

Most of us never even think about what we spend our time doing. We get up, we go to work, we come home at the end of the day. We’re just going through the motions never really thinking about what we do or how we do it or even why we do it.

Fast food

I really hate all the American fast food restaurants that we have now. They all look the same, the food taste like plastic, and although a burger and fries contains loads of calories, you are hungry again five minutes later. These companies waste a lot of paper and packaging as everything is disposable. Some of them have been blamed for the destruction of the Amazon rain forest too. I like a lot of traditional food. In fact I like my mum’s cooking best.”

FRIENDSHIP

I have had a couple of rough days. I’m having a fight with my boyfriend at the moment because he said he can’t take it anymore. He said my best friend is nothing but a drama starter and she doesn’t even have a job. Actually, it’s really hard for me to decide because I love my best friend so much. She has been there for me through thick and thin. Jeremy, my boyfriend I love him too and I am really looking forward to starting my life with him. He is everything to me and I would be willing to risk it all just for him. I just don’t know what to do. I just need to work on my future with my boyfriend and I don’t want to lose him. I don’t want to lose my best friend, either. Someone help me!!
