An F-1 visa interview is short — often just a few minutes — but it can decide your entire study-abroad journey. Confidence, honesty, and clear answers matter far more than a memorized script.
What the officer wants to see
The consular officer is checking three things: that you are a genuine student, that you can afford your studies, and that you intend to return home after graduation.
Questions you should be ready for
Why did you choose this school and this major?
Who is sponsoring your studies, and what do they do?
What are your plans after you graduate?
Do you have family in the United States?
Answer in your own words, keep it concise, and never recite a memorized script — officers can always tell.
Practice with an AAE advisor beforehand so your answers feel natural and every document is in order.
